about

To mark the announcement of ‘Cosmic’, Moss has shared new single ‘Cosmic Memory’ - her first full-band production, ‘Cosmic Memory’ floats above drums and strings as Moss recounts a conversation in a Costa coffee with an ex-partner and some panicked embellishment of how great life is going... As likely to make you laugh as it is to make you need a little moment to reflect, Elanor is in full flight here as she plays with tone, expectations and themes while delivering a perfectly crafted slice of timeless, dreamy alt-folk / pop.

lyrics

'Hey, how are you?'
You say, you're seeing someone new
Before I had the chance to see if I still love you
I hit back with "I'm basically famous"
But really I'm cripplingly lonely
“Pass the sugar please”
Why’d you leave?

I'm sick of playing it cool
All the time
When you're the only one
Who can still read my mind

I started sleeping with the lights on
Sometime since you've gone
But you still star in every dream
My cosmic memory

My mind glitches out like a rented VHS
That someone forgot to rewind
It plays out the scene where Meg Ryan fakes it
In the cafe just like me
Stuck in a faded repeat

I'm sick of playing it cool
All the time
When you're the only one
Who can still read my mind

I started sleeping with the lights on
Sometime since you've gone
But you still star in every dream
My cosmic memory
